Appointments

Urgent Appointment

Before requesting a same day appointment, we would encourage patients to access the resources and links on this website.

Our clinicians have a limited number of appointments each day and requests for emergency appointments will be triaged and allocated by a GP in order of medical need.

Once capacity has been reached, you may be advised to seek medical advice via alternative options including the community pharmacy, phone first service or minor injuries.

  • phone us on 028 427 28854, Monday to Friday from 8:30am

When you get in touch, our trained staff will ask what you need help with. We will use the information you give to direct you to the the most suitable doctor, nurse or health professional to help you.

If you need help when we are closed

If you require urgent GP assistance outside of normal surgery hours please call 028 91 822 344. The doctors are based at Ards Hospital and cover:

  • 8.30am to 6pm Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday
  • 1pm to 6pm Thursdays are covered by emergency line on 07526084793
  • Lunchtime closure – 1pm to 2pm
  • Bank holidays are also covered by the out of hours GP service - 028 91 822344

All calls to doctors are recorded – this is not a walk-in service. Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.

In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.

If you need help with your appointment

Please tell us:

  • if there’s a specific doctor, nurse or other health professional you would prefer to respond
  • if you need an interpreter
  • if you have any other access or communication needs

Home visits

Whilst we encourage our patients to come to the surgery, where we have the proper equipment and facilities available, we do appreciate this is not always possible. In this respect, if you do need a home visit, you can help us by calling before 10:30am on 028 427 28854.

You may only request a home visit if you are housebound or are too ill to visit the practice. The GP will telephone beforehand to ascertain your medical condition requires it and will also decide how urgently a visit is needed. Please bear this in mind and be prepared to provide suitable details to the receptionist which will enable the doctor to schedule house calls.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP.

You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.

Please note that in the time it takes for a GP to visit you at home, 3 or more patients can be seen in the surgery.
