Anyone wishing to register with the practice must live within 7 miles of Portaferry Health Centre (cut off is Rubane Road, just before Kircubbin). If you reside outside our boundary, you may be able to register with Loughview Medical Centre in Kircubbin or Ballywalter Surgery.
If you are transferring within GP or NI, or if you are coming from outside the UK you will need to complete a HSCR1 form. You MUST provide the requested photo ID and paperwork detailed on the form before we can submit your application to BSO. You will also be asked to complete a patient lifestyle questionnaire. If possible, you should bring a copy of any repeat medication that you are currently prescribed.
Please note that patients are registered with the practice and not an individual GP. You can book a routine appointment with your doctor of choice but should you need an urgent consultation, you will be allocated an appointment with any available clinician. Our Advanced Nurse Practitioner sees and treats most common ailments and conditions and can refer and prescribe just like a doctor. However she is not a suitable clinician for pregnancy or mental health problems.
